Bill Simpson-Young is co-founder and CEO of Gradient Institute, an independent, nonprofit research institute formed in 2019 to help society understand, manage and shape AI as it transforms our world. He has led R&D in global tech companies and government research labs including in machine learning, computer vision and privacy-enabling technologies. He is on several government committees related to the oversight and governance of AI.
